Guild Philosophy and Mission statement: By definition Oppression is the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner. We aim to Oppress the current progression content and the rest of the raiding guilds on our server with a you are with us or against us attitude. It is our goal to be one of the premiere guilds on Shadowmoon while operating on a compressed raiding schedule designed to better fit the personal and professional lives of our members. To that end, we will recruit and train talented, driven, and self-motivated players, both on- and off-server; we will strive to our utmost to build and maintain a cohesive, consistent, and skilled raid group; and we will do everything in our power to make raiding with Oppression a constructive and enjoyable experience while continuing to push ourselves to the limits of progression content.

Our officer core - Our current officer core is comprised of a GM with over 3 years of guild management experience on all levels. Our main raid leaders are formerly of top 100 US guilds that are Light of Dawn and Bane experienced and are looking to help bring our guild up to that level. Our assistant officers have experience in high level raid content though all 3 expansions between them thus far. We are a strong team with balanced areas of expertise who enjoy working as a team to give our guild a solid experienced and knowledgeable foundation.
We are recruiting for Cataclysm - Why choose Oppression?
Our Officer Core - As listed above our officer core is stable and committed to making our guild the best it can possibly be for cataclysm, we are only going to recruit talented top level players that want to achieve the same goals as us.
We will be taking Fraps of all our raids - We will also be making our own strategy guides for our members and posting them on the Forums/You tube So that our backups will be on the same page with what the core is doing at all times. Ever want to show people exactly what you're doing? now is your chance.
The Attitude - You're not an Oppression member unless you're outspoken about it or you support it. We hate bads and the rest of our server and are not afraid to show it. This also gives you the freedom of expression that you don't find in many, if any high end guilds out there. If you want to talk smack, talk it, just make sure you have the skill to back it up. We want people who aren't afraid to put their reputation on the line for the guild.
Our Schedule- You don't need to raid 5 nights per week to be hardcore and have quality progression, you need skilled members who are comitted to showing up on time and doing the job correctly without wasted time.
*What are we looking for in a raider? Someone who will give us PEAK performance
PROFESSIONALISM - to meet attendance requirements, take pride in your game play and see it through untill the project is complete and goals are reached.
EXCELLENCE- being unwilling to except anything less.
ABILITY- to execute your class to the highest level and carry out the strategies that the GM and officers of the guild have set for you.
KNOWLEDGE- of your class and a proven track record of success in high level progression content.
Our Loot Council system - Our loot system is entirely Council based on a combination of the 5 factors below the officers will decide who gets awarded the pieces.
* 1 Attendance -Show up on time weekly, stay till the end and be punctual. Easy right?
* 2 Performance - Performance bonuses will be given out for the people that excel at the top level of the guild.
* 3 Class - The class best suited to use the item in question.
* 4 Spec - The Spec of a specific raider best suited to use the item in question.
* 5 Raid Balance + Upgrading- Upgrading the entire raid to equal levels of performance. We are only as strong as our weakest member. At some point we may need to gear a new member or change a members main spec/character to better fit our raid composition and this will have priority over other factors.
